ANXIETY

Anxiety is at the root of many common types of
mental health
problems. Everyone experiences anxiety in their daily life. Perhaps
this is why many people who are afflicted with an anxiety disorder, do
not seek treatment. Millions of people have anxiety disorders. Anxiety
affects
young and old.
Everyone feels anxious now
and then. It is normal to feel anxiety in the face of danger or a
challenging situation. Anxiety can be helpful. It can help you rise to
the occasion and be more alert.

But anxiety disorders are
different. A person with an anxiety disorder has fears and worry that
may be severe or last a very long time. May often be out of proportion
to the actual situation or can force him or her to take extreme action
to avoid the source of the anxiety such being afraid to leave their
home.
There are several different
anxiety disorders:
-
Panic
disorders
-
Phobias
-
Generalized
anxiety disorder also known as GAD
-
Obsessive
compulsive disorder
-
Post
traumatic stress disorder
A person with anxiety
disorders may feel alone or hopeless. But with treatment, it is possible
to enjoy a healthy and productive life. Anxiety disorder is not a sign
of weakness.
